2020:
Visualizing Diversity and Inclusion in AAPI Health
APAMSA
REGIONAL CONFERENCE
REGION 3
~
The APAMSA Region 3 Directors sincerely appreciate your interest in attending our conference in Philadelphia.
In light of recent events regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), however, we have decided to postpone the APAMSA Region 3 Conference to a later date in Fall 2020.
As a medically conscious organization, the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) values the well-being of our members and the community we serve. Thus, we will be following recommended protocol from the CDC and AMA in order to prioritize everyone’s health and minimize any potential health concerns.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and your conference ticket would be fully refunded. We would be happy to help discuss reimbursement options for other conference-related purchases.

We sincerely hope that you will consider attending our Region 3 Conference in the near future.

Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

ABOUT THE EVENT /
We cordially invite you to attend the annual APAMSA Region 3 (Mid-Atlantic) Conference held at Sidney Kimmel Medical College! The theme for this year’s conference is 2020: Visualizing Diversity and Inclusion in AAPI Health. We are hoping to provide a platform for students to learn about and discuss the implications of health gaps currently affecting the AAPI community. We hope to instill an appreciation of the importance of diversity and inclusivity, so we can better advocate for and address the health issues in AAPI communities.

Through a series of workshops and speakers, we hope to offer an integrative experience for you to approach community-specific challenges in and out of the medical context. We hope you will gain specific skills to help you engage patients in your future careers and practice culturally competent care.
Region 3 of APAMSA consists of 15 active medical school chapters in Pennsylvania, Maryland, DC, and Virginia

Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) is dedicated to the establishment of a medical system that provides culturally competent services, resources, support, and community education to Asian Pacific Islander (API) communities, including the underserved and disadvantaged populations. We are committed to political advocacy and services such as bone marrow registration and hepatitis B screenings. We seek the professional development of medical students and undergraduates interested in API health through the building of community with other medical students, faculty, physicians, and health professionals.
